A Jurat is different from an Acknowledgement. It is proof that an oath was taken before an administering officer, such as a notary. A Jurat is an officer’s certificate showing that an officer administered an oath to the affiant signing, the affiant swore under oath that facts stated are true, and the affiant’s signature was witnessed by the officer.
